As Chief Financial Officer of Combs Enterprises, Anthony (Tony) Abrahams oversees all financial activities of the various operating companies and investments built and cultivated by Sean “Diddy” Combs, as well as the personal business and financial matters for Mr. Combs. He also helps to identify and pursue strategic investments that expand the reach and influence that Mr. Combs has on entertainment, media, fashion, spirits, culture and other sectors. His vast experience includes 20 years in Private Equity/Venture Capital, 8 years of corporate finance and investment banking activities and 5 years in public accounting.
Prior to joining Combs Enterprises, Tony provided independent strategic, transactional and financial consulting services and solutions to private equity firms. He had previously worked as the CFO and Partner for New Venture Partners LLC, a venture capital firm that establishes close, long-term relationships with global technology corporations to commercialize innovations through spin-out ventures. And, prior to that, Tony worked as an executive in the Corporate Finance group at Ernest & Young, LLP, where he focused on providing M&A and private capital sourcing services to the technology, communications, and healthcare/managed care industries for venture-backed and owner-managed businesses.
Tony spent nearly five years as an investment banker at Kidder, Peabody & Co., Incorporated, covering industries such as telecommunications, technology, healthcare, and industrial manufacturing. Before receiving his MBA, he also spent five years as an auditor at Coopers & Lybrand (now known as PwC).
Tony has served on the boards of dozens of companies in his portfolio, and is actively involved in several community organizations. He is a lifetime member of the National Black MBA Association and the NAACP. He has also served on the Board of Advisors of Technology Ventures Incubator at Stevens Institute of Technology and was a recipient of The Network Journal Forty under Forty Awards.
Tony holds an MBA from The Harvard Business School, a BS degree in Accounting from Virginia State University (Summa Cum Laude) and is a Certified Public Accountant. He is married to Marilyn, his wife of 28 years, and has three children.
